Facing their two biggest games of the season, the Giants rose to the occasion and knocked off the Jets and Cowboys, respectively, to reach the NFC playoffs.
Did they restore order to their season, or will tomorrow’s matchup with the Falcons turn out to be just another game that leaves Giants fans shaking their heads. See Giants vs. Seahawks or Giants vs. Redskins for reference.
Who are these guys?
The good news for Giants fans is that the Falcons have had a similar up-and-down season in which their fans have had no idea which team will show up for their next game.
Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan is winless in his two playoff appearances, but some may say he’s due. Ryan will face a suspect Giants secondary tomorrow, and he can choose from three outstanding targets in wide receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White, as well as tight end Tony Gonzalez. In the backfield, Michael Turner is a load to bring down.
The Giants are home and back to rushing the QB like they can. They also have Eli Manning and Victor Cruz, a very dangerous combo right now. And the Falcons can’t forget about Hakeem Nicks, either.
The weather isn’t likely to be a major factor, meaning that both clubs should be able to throw the ball.
I think the Giants will win, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Atlanta advance. Go with the Giants, but don’t expect this to be easy.

Tebow Time has just about run out in Denver this season, but the Broncos are facing a very much beat-up Steelers team tomorrow.
The good news for Denver is that Pittsburgh’s offense has been struggling while Ben Roethlisberger tries to recover from a severe ankle injury. The team is already without running back Rashard Mendenhall, who is on injured reserve.
On defense, the Steelers will be without leading tackler Ryan Clark, but should get linebacker LaMarr Woodley back.
The Broncos lost their last three games but backed into the playoffs when the Raiders were beaten by the Chargers. To regain their winning ways Denver’s defense must keep them in the game and force multiple turnovers.
But in the end it will come down to whether or not Tebow can make some big plays.
It’s hard to pick against the Steelers’ defense in the playoffs, so I won’t. They should be able to at least duplicate what Chicago and Kansas City exploited in Denver’s offense. But I’m not a huge believer in this Pittsburgh team in general. Too many cracks in its armor to make a long playoff run.
Another Tebow finish isn’t out of the question, but only if you believe in miracles. Take the Steelers.
Any Giant game is never a given , they are as unpredictable as the weather . Just hope Eli has a big game and the defense rises to the occasion !
I don’t think this will be easy either way, but I don’t trust the Falcons more than I think the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl. I can definitely see Atlanta winning and have been a bit surprised by what I’ve read in the papers and heard on the radio this week. Not enough people are giving the Falcons a legitimate shot today.
this is one of those games where alot of the analyst’s are overlooking the falcons because it is outside and how they went out in a blow out in their only playoff game last year. the giants beat the 2 most overrated teams in the in the nfl in my opinion the jets and the cowboys to get in to the playoffs. if the falcons shut down victor cruz this game is closer to the redskins,seahawks/giants score and falcons win this easily.
